Online Ballet Class FAQs

Common questions about adult ballet classes

How do I access the online ballet classes?

We use Zoom for all our online ballet fitness classes. When you book, you will receive a confirmation email with the class date and time and a Zoom link to access the class. You’ll also receive a reminder with the Zoom link one hour before class is due to start.

Clicking the Zoom link will take you directly to the live online class. If you prefer to join a meeting via the Zoom app and enter the meeting ID manually, this can be found by clicking on the link in your confirmation email to show the meeting ID or by copying the digits at the end of your Zoom link.

Once you join class, you will have the option to show or hide your video. You are welcome to leave your video on so your instructor can see you. Other participants will also be able to see you.

Please mute your microphone once you join class to minimise interference for other participants.

If accessing via MoveGB: Your class link will be shown in the MoveGB app or platform when you check in. You will also receive a confirmation and reminder from Ballet Fusion one hour before class.

If accessing via ClassPass: Your class link will be shown in the ClassPass app or platform when you check in.

If accessing via GymPass: Your class link will be shown in the GymPass app or platform when you check in.

How do I get Zoom?

You can download the Zoom app from Zoom.us. Zoom works on desktop, laptop and mobile device via the app.

To bypass the app and access Zoom via your browser, use the ‘join from your browser’ link when you click the meeting link.

How far in advance can I book an online ballet class?

You can book online Ballet Fusion classes up to one month in advance. This applies to all online group classes and online private sessions.

What’s the latest I can book an online class?

You can book online classes up to 15 mins before class is due to start :)

What’s the latest I can cancel or reschedule an online class?

You can cancel or reschedule an online class up to one hour before class is due to start. Any less than this and you will be charged in full for the class.

Do I need any equipment to join an online ballet class?

For most of our online ballet fitness classes you will need something you can use as a barre - such as a chair, counter top or anything of a similar height. You will also need a mat or something comfy for floor work. A yoga mat, towel or rug is great.

For our 20 min Ballet Arms class you have the option to use weights: Either wrist weights, light dumbbells or cans of beans (or cans of anything!) from the kitchen.

How do I pay for online Ballet Fusion classes?

You can book and pay for our online ballet fitness classes via our website. Our online classes are listed on our Live Online Ballet Classes page.

Our website takes bookings via credit card or Paypal.

Classes can also be booked via the MoveGB platform, ClassPass and GymPass.

What if I can’t access the online class?

Unfortunately, technical issues are a reality and in the rare event that you can’t access the online ballet class, please let us know using the form at the bottom of this page or via our contact us page. Depending on the issue, we will either refund or reschedule your class or provide you with a code to book another class of your choice.

Do I need to wear ballet shoes to online classes?

For our Classic, Basics, Pointe Prep, Stretch & Flex and Quickie class you can wear ballet shoes, socks or bare feet. We don’t recommend trainers for any of these classes.

For our Cardio Flow class you can wear ballet shoes, socks, bare feet or soft trainers / plimsoles.

For our 20 min Ballet Core workout, 20 min Ballet Butt workout and Ballet Arms workout classes bare feet, socks or ballet shoes are ideal as you will need to stretch and flex your feet in some exercises.

Can I join a Ballet Fusion online class if I’ve never done ballet before?

Yes! We welcome people who are new to ballet every week. Ballet Fusion exercises are based on basic ballet principles and we combine these with other calisthenic and deep muscle core and balance exercises to build strength. Exercises are easy to pick up and follow along.

If you are unsure which class to try, start with our Basics ballet fitness class for beginners and if you are short of time, try our Quickie or 20 at 12 series of classes.

Do you offer different level classes?

Most Ballet Fusion classes are for all levels. We keep exercises simple to follow and focus on toning, balance and strength building. Your instructor will sometimes offer exercise variations to make exercises harder or easier.

How much do online ballet fitness classes cost?
